Removable Limbs
Wizard of Oz Tin Man outfit?
For my eight year old. She has to get about in it all day, so something other than cardboard – my initial idea!
I was thinking of silver fabric and maybe removable cardboard limbs or something. Can you get silver face/body paint?
Anyone done something similar before?!
We dressed as the wizard of oz characters for our carnival once for the tin man we found a second hand silver t-shirt and some light grey trousers, we tied cardboard covered in silver foil round the bottom half of the lads legs on the back and front because we had to walk quite a distance in it, we had corrugated card on his arms that slipped on and off quite easily and a funnel covered in foil on his head fastened on with elastic.
On his face we used some silver make-up we had as it’s much easier to wash off then face paint as he had school the next day.
If you don’t want to use cardboard then i’d go with fabric/ foil, but if your using cardboard just cover the front of the legs and have two seperate pieces above and below the knee then she can sit down.
